Simple South Indian Semolina Breakfast | Upma
INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon ghee
¼ teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon channa dal (split Bengal gram) (optional)
2 to 3 split and chopped cashew nuts
1 medium red onion, chopped finely
2 green chillies, chopped finely
¼ inch ginger, grated
a few curry leaves or dill leaves
1 cup water (1:3, for every cup of semolina, add 3 cups of water)
Salt to taste
⅓ cup coarse semolina, roasted
