I was born in Tamil Nadu, grew up with Kerala roots, worked in Karnataka, and have a deep love for Andhra food, so South Indian cooking is truly home to me. These are recipes passed down from my mother, shared by neighbours, and collected over a lifetime of eating really, really well. You'll find the full spread here: crispy street snacks, coconut-laced curries, rice and lentil dishes, hearty Kerala mains, and the sweet treats that end every good meal. If you're new to South Indian cooking, start with the Sambar or Kerala Beef Fry... you won't look back.
Each state in India has its own cuisine, but here I have broadly classified them into South Indian and North Indian recipes because the ingredients used are similar. Here you will find the famous Sambar recipe, the deep-fried Murukku, Kerala's kappa and beef, and the one dessert that is common across the states - Rava Kesari. Of course, there is a biryani recipe too!
